How to Create Shift Patterns

Set up reusable shift templates that work across every location in your business.

Shift patterns (like "Full day, 9am–5pm" or "Half-day, 9am–1pm") are the building blocks of your roster.

They're shared across all your locations

Once you create a shift pattern, it's available everywhere in your business — you won't need to recreate the same patterns every time you add a new location. This is deliberate: most businesses use the same few shift patterns across all their branches.

Creating a pattern

Give it a name, a start and end time, and optionally a color label to make it easy to spot at a glance on the roster grid.

Where they're used

Shift patterns show up when you manually assign a shift on the roster, and they're what auto-generate uses to fill the week.
