Understanding Attendance Statuses

Learn what On Time, Late, Unscheduled, and the other attendance statuses actually mean.

1 min read

Every clock-in is automatically labeled with a status, based on when it happened compared to the schedule.

The statuses

  • On Time — within 15 minutes of the scheduled shift start
  • Late — more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start
  • Early — more than 15 minutes before the scheduled start
  • Unscheduled — the staff member clocked in, but wasn't scheduled to work that day. This is always allowed, never blocked — useful for shift swaps or a shift that wasn't added to the roster in time.
  • Outside Hours — the clock-in happened at a time your location is marked as closed. This is flagged separately from "Unscheduled" because it's a more unusual event worth a closer look.

Late is still "showing up"

Being marked Late doesn't mean anything was blocked or denied — it's simply a timing signal for your own visibility, shown alongside every clock-in on the Attendance page and in reports.
